Mediation as a Catalyst for Human Flourishing and Social Trust

ree

Mediation can foster human flourishing (eudaimonia) and social trust in an era marked by institutional distrust, cultural polarization, and social fragmentation.

Mediation is not merely a procedural tool for resolving disputes, but a deeply transformative practice capable of promoting spiritual, relational, and moral dimensions of justice. Mediation contributes to the cultivation of empathy, dignity, mutual understanding, and long-term well-being—both for individuals and the communities they inhabit. In doing so, mediation is positioned as a participatory process that aligns with the broader goals of human development and societal cohesion. Mediation also advocates for more humane, trust-centered approaches to justice—approaches that go beyond outcomes and procedures to consider the deeper human needs for connection, purpose, and flourishing.
